Three people. One town. No shortcuts.

PowerSuit: Paradice City is made by Lucky Deck Gaming Ltd — a three-person UK studio formed by lifelong friends with a shared passion for casino gaming.

Why we made it

We wanted to bring back the spirit of what made us love poker: the atmosphere, the characters at the tables of televised tournaments, the exciting plays and risky calls, the psychology and the trash talking. We wrapped all of it in dark humour, comedic tragedy and delusions of grandeur, set it in what we maintain was the best decade — the 1980s — and called it Paradice City. We also know how to spell paradise.

The no-AI-art thing

It feels like AI has taken over game art, and we've not wanted to use it for any of ours. It wouldn't sit right with us, and we had a clear vision of what we wanted — so every citizen, sign and seedy corner of the town is drawn by hand. It's slower. You can tell the difference, which is the point.

Player experience over monetisation

Our ethos has always been focused on the player's experience and less on monetisation. In practice that means no ads, chips that top up free through the day, and no real money on the tables — the games have to be worth playing on their own, or none of this works.

What's next

There are only three of us, and we've worked day in, day out to bring PowerSuit to life. With some support from our players we hope to continue the PowerSuit series and develop more games with the same humour and detail. If you'd like to help with that, the best ways are simple: play the game and tell somebody about it.
